I was watching Prime Time last night on ABC. The program was about treating Autism. It seems that the Cleveland Clinic is one of the few places in the world that can treat this terrible illness.

During my two stays at CC I used to stop in the lobby after eating in the CC cafeteria. I liked to look at the portraits of the Trustees. These Cleveland men gave their time and their money to make CC the first class institution it is. There was a picture of Alfred Lerner, the founder of MBNA Bank. He gave millions to CC. On my evening walks around the area I would see the big Lerner Research Building that he donated. Sadly, he died last year but his widow, Norma, continues to support and nourish this great medical center.

I'm sure the CC alumni on Jack's board share my deep feeling of gratitude to CC and the pride and thankfulness that we have such an institution in our country.
