I have been on a waiting list for a PVA with Dr.Marchlinsky at U of Pa for over a year. I am 45 and have had fib for 15 years. Had a succesful ablation for a flutter 2 years ago but afib has gotten worse since that procedure. On Tambocor, Toprol and Coumadin. No consistent help. Dr. Marchlinski told me two years ago to wait since procedure being improved almost monthly. I have read about problems with stenosis of the pulmonary veins after the procedure and problems with insufficient closure of hole when catheter passes thru the atrium. Has anyone had the procedure at U of Pa and would you wait for Dr. Marchlinski or has anyone had good experiences with other Drs. at UofPa.? Any insight would be helpful. Thanks
