Hi Jack, Thanks for your reply. I should have stated more info. I get so bound up in the research. :-) Testing for my condition started June 2003. After my dad died, I bought my first house shortly thereafter, then started having those hard thumping palpitations pretty regularly. Figuring it was stress, I did what I could to destress and they went away for several months. Only to come back with a vengance when I started an exercise routine on the treadmill several months later. Some coworkers told me to go have it checked out, so I did. My primary care doctor ordered EKG, then 24 hour Holter which only caught a few blips. Several months later I had the treadmill stress test and failed miserably having "uncoupled" PVCs throughout. The doctor administering the test was surprised. He said normally they expect that kind of thing to go AWAY with exercise, not get worse. Next was the echocardiogram for which I drank an espresso beforehand, so they could see what an "average" day looks like. I don't really drink espresso all the time, just wanted to be sure they got a look at what's going on. Anyway, after that is when I got to talk to the cardiologist and all he really said was the disturbance seemed to be coming from the center of my heart and recommended ablation. I wanted to try the drugs first; he said the side affects are bad and they were. So out next appt. in a couple weeks will be to talk about ablation. I haven't seen another EP cuz I didn't think there were too may choices and that my condition was probably pretty obvious. There is one other EP in town but I don't know his background. This cardio/EP I have was recommended by my primary care doctor, who I trust. But I can always go for a 2nd opinion. I did for the Hepc and got the same answer as the first. Anyway, sorry for not including more information the first time. All this research is making my head fuzzier than normal! HA HA!!

Thanks!
Laura
