I have heard so many adverse comments about the British health system that it makes me shudder to think there are those in congress who are pushing hard to force the same kind of 'mis-health' care system here on us as well. Medicare is an atrocity as it is. When I retired I had the same medical coverage I had with the company I retired from and up until I turned sixty five. I hardly paid a penny for anything; Dr. visits, hospital, tests, etc.. Now that medicare is my primary medical insurance and my retirement medical is secondary, I am having to pay quite a substantial amount, thanks to the almighty federal government forcing medicare on me as my primary medical insurance. Now my retirement medical insurance only pays 'sometimes' eighty percent of what medicare doesn't pay. If medicare does not cover certain things or procedures my retirement medical doesn't pay anything either.

Anything the federal government gets involved in is a disaster.

Mention medicare and it get my 'dander' up.

Glenn
