These are interesting answers. I too believe there must be some genetic link in some forms of AF. But I think there are other threads, as well. I was very athletic in my younger days, had a high stress job and drank way too much coffee. Mix this with the skipped beats and maybe I was doomed to develope AF.

When my daughter was born, I was very aware of her heart beat and could detect a skip at the age of two years. At twenty one, the skips are still there and get worse for her when she is stressed or exercising. I hate to think she might follow in my footsteps and I know this is the back of her mind. Thank God doctors, at least some of them, are taking this condition seriously and the future will be brighter for her.
