Jeanne, I had my first episode of A-Fib. in Aug. 2000. I woke up with it. I don't think I ever had A-Fib. before nor any other type of rythum problems. My A-Fib usually started in the early morning hours. It later would began in the late evening. No other members of my family had A-Fib as far as I know. I was 58 when it started. I did the usual DX test and nothing was found. I did the rounds of meds and that didn't seem to help either. As the A-Fib became more often I began to look on the web and found this site. (thank God).I had my Maze in Dec. 2001. I have not had A-fib since. I did have a good amout of PVC's and these have greatly improved over the last several months. I must say I have almost forgotten the feeling of A-Fib. Over all I hope for even less PVC's in the future. The topic of "How did I get A-Fib" is really a good one to ponder. However, I perfer to think about not having A-Fib.
