This past Thursday came my turn to put closure to atrial fibrillation. My wife and I drove six hours to Cleveland Monday prior to winter’s last blast, watched the snow fall from our hotel room; Wednesday took the echo and TEE, talked to Michelle and Dr. Natale that afternoon, had a good overnight sleep; Thursday up at 5, prepped by 7, into the EP lab by 8:30, out for the count shortly afterwards, awakened in NSR at 12:30, in my hospital bed and lunch by 1, overnight stay watching NCAA basketball; Friday signed discharge order by 9, shower and shave in the hotel room and on the road home by noon. Can’t beat that experience for efficiency. Considering all the information I had collected over the last 7 years, the attempts to find something that would work and the frustrations of each failed effort; that trip home and the trashing of those frustrations was my big step to closure. I know the next three recovery months will require patience and will power not to overdue this new found NSR, so wish me well for I thank all those who have gone before in this struggle to find answers to AF.
