Jeanne,

I haven't had anymore afib since the procedure to stop it. However, I have daily 'bouts' of pvc's, some light ones, some powerful ones.

I talked to Dr. Cheng in Houston and he is supposed to call my local EP and have him install a 30 day event monitor to record the focus point of the pvc's. I think Dr. Cheng should have installed one prior to me leaving Houston, now I've got to drive thirty miles to get the thing installed and coordinated with the monitor company. I have worn both thirty day and Holter Monitor enough times that I know where to place all the pads and where the different wires go, but I have never coordinated the activation of either.

I am taking 7.5 mg of Coumadin once daily, 100 mg of flecainide twice daily, 5 mg of Norvasc twice daily for blood pressure and 25 mg of atenolol once daily. Also, 0.25 mg of xanax as needed for this dadgummed anxiety caused by the pvc's. So I'm still on the same regimen of medicine as I was prior to the ablations.

Dr. Cheng will not keep a patient on the table any longer than four hours maximum because of excessive exposure and if any more ablations are needed will do so later. That is why he didn't go easter egg hunting for other errant signals. He has already told me the pvc's are a different 'beast' than afib and if they do not subside over time, an ablation would be done.
He says I must keep in mind that my heart is irritated from the burns and has to have time to heal. The problem with me is I do not like the restrictions the pvc's that make me feel really bad put on me.

I know I sound like I'm complaining but I do not intend to sound that way. I'm very thankful that I am not having any afib so far. That part of it is great!

Glenn
