Sarah, after I mailed you, I thought I would post here to let anyone else know that you can survive PC.

Sarah, I am a 14 year survivor of PC. I was DX with it in 1990, and had
the radical prostate surgery.
All my pre-surgical test showed that it was still contained in the prostate,
but when they operated, it had exited the prostate, but the surgeon said he
kept cutting until he got clean tissue reports, and he thought he got
everything.
Well, its been 14 years and no sign of it coming back. I went to a
oncologist for checkups for 10 years, but in 2000 he released me and told me
not to bother him any more.
He did have my family doctor to do a yearly check and PSA run.
As far as which treatments is best. I don't really know. It depends a
lot on how old your husband is, what the test show about if it has spread or
not, and many different things.
Sarah, I am going to be out of town from Thursday until Sunday. If there
is any thing I can help you all with, let me know.
There is a prostate cancer chat room on WebMd, if your interested in it.
I get on there once in awhile, but not very often. I think it is mostly
on Tue. and Thur. nights. Some of the people there would be more up on
the latest treatments, and which might be best.
