Hello and thanks to all of you have been kind enough to post your experiences with A-Fib, the MAZE, and in particular, the CC.

I think I have read every message, and I know I have become much more informed about what to expect with the testing, procedure(s), and recovery.

I have had A-Fib for about 7 years, never had any symptoms, and I was in it full time.
It was discovered in a routine physical for a sports related injury.

A few cardioversions were done, but none ever lasted more than a week or two.
Finally with a ton of meds, and a pacemaker, it was under control. I had no restrictions
on any activities.

Recently I learned I needed a bypass, and mitral valve repair. When I mentioned the
possibility of the MAZE to my cardiologist, he was all for it. He sent my records to
Dr. Grimm, and now I’m set for surgery on Feb.27th, with Drs. Cosgrove & Gillinov.

So far all my interactions with the CC have been great. I feel like I did the research,
and made the correct decisions.

I guess only time will tell.

I’ll try and post again, after I get to the CC.
