It will be a Godsend if it proves out to be what it is purported to be. I was taken to the ER on September 1st, 2002, with what was determined following a CTScan by the neurologist as a "blood mass" in the Pineal Gland area of the brain that is located right above the roof at the back of your mouth. The mass was as large as a couple of a man's thumbs side by side and was putting pressure on my brain. I knew nothing about what was happening during all this and was the same as not existing for about three days even though I was told that I talked to people and called them by their name, etc.. My wife and oldest daughter told me they knew something was wrong when I told them I talked to President Bush the previous week and it was December instead of September.

I had been having occassional headaches in different places around on my skull three or four days prior to the episode. The blood mass eventually dissapated after a couple of months.

The neurologist said my blood was way too thin and he hesitated inserting a 'shunt' to drain the blood to relieve the pressure. Coumadin was the culprit for causing it. That's why it's very important for all of us on coumadin to have it checked regularly. I had been and continually have mine checked regularly.

It didn't seem to have any lasting negative effects....what was I talking about?

Glenn
