GREAT! You got action fast, didn't you? We wil be thinking of Pat from now, through next Tuesday. Hope the weather doesn't make you too miserable.You sound like an organized lady! The last week or so, I've been researching and calling to find a specialist for my husband also. We needed someone who did difficult shoulder surgeries. He's had two failed rotator cuff surgeries on same shldr.
Mayo Clinic is rated #1 for ortho, so we thought we wanted a doc there. Barnes/Jewish and Cleveland Clinic are in the top 10. Our local doc referred us to a guy in Little Rock. I was getting apointments with all of them, to see which one we could get into first.
So far, the CC's has made themselves SO available! They just blow me away, with their helpfulness, and warm, confident attitudes! They were easy to contact via email, and got responses directly from the ortho doctor himself within 24hrs! He not only said we could come up right away, and have surgery the same week, but if we wanted, he'd recommend a doctor closer to home, if that were more convenient.
Mayo, on the other hand has been a beaurocratic nightmare! Even if they are No.1, we felt so frustrated, that we gave up. St. Louis was better, and the Arkansas guy can't do anything for 4-5weeks.
I KNOW I sound like such a CC fan, but I can't help it! They just keep being amazingly wonderful for my whole family.
