atenolol

Hello everyone,

I have just returned from my three day stay in the hospital to start Norpace and discontinue Atenolol. Well, as I have found out once again, discontinuing Atenolol after twelve years can not be done in two days in the hospital. Last night I started to have runs of rapid beats that did not feel like AF but was the same feeling as when they tried to stop it six months ago. Within one hour after I took a half dose of Atenolol, every settled down.

So my question is to anyone who as gone through this, how did you do it? I plan on weaning myself of this much slower than just stopping it, as was done in the hospital. They told me it was OK to take 25mg twice a day if I needed it. I don't want to be on it at all. It makes me feel like hell.

Any and all advice would be appreciated.
