I especially agree 1000 percent with your statement:

There seems to be an impression among afibbers that getting an ablation is like going to a McDonalds for a hamburger. You drive there. Order the burger. Eat it. And in a short time it is done and you leave. Mission accomplished!

I have had 2 ablations and one Maze. The ablations were scary, but fortunately, I was not injured in any way.

The MAZE was easy for me. I was walking the floor the day after the surgery and using the CC computer to post messages on the board. I was never scared since I knew the surgeon had a clear, visual field in which to work and every part of my heart was in range of his fingers. I never had any pain - did not use the Percocet.

Folks thinking about having an ablation owe it to themselves and their family to read the posts by Pete Read and Dan Walter.
