Dear Friends,I thank you all from the bottom of my now fixed heart (no pun intended)for your posts and prayers for my procedure January 20th. Your support meant so much to me. The procedure took 6 hours. Dr. Natale did a touch up on the left atrium and an ablation on the right side. They tested it and couldn't induce a-fib. In a phrase, Dr. Natale said it was a "complete success." Now I am drug free except for 3 months of Coumadin and I can tell you I am relieved and grateful to Dr. Natale and his superb team.

I would have written sooner but the computer was down on my floor at the CC and then we had to drive home to Connecticut dodging snow (ll hours).

I did have one disquieting moment last night in the motel en route when, after 400 miles of driving and being very tired I got an elevated heart rate just as I climbed into bed. Naturally it freaked me out. This went on till the morning. During it I thought I was sinking into the pit again but in fact my heart rate never went above l00 beats per minute. I later read the info Minerva gave me from Dr. Natale's office saying that from 2-6 weeks following the procedure "heart beat irritability" is "very common" following ablations. Has anything like this happened to any of you? All is fine now and I hope tonight will be better than last as I try to believe that this cure really is for real.

So now I am an alum of both the maze and a pvi/ablation, feeling very thankful to all of you and the wonderful staff in the A-fib Center at the Cleveland. And, oh yeah, the Cleveland Clinic is nothing short of impressive!
