I love these discussions when we are all trying to figure out how we can be so much better than we were before surgery and how long it will take us to return to our old selves. To me, both Anders and Steve have the experience and knowledge that I always rely on. I will say that I was able to run the 50 miles because it just took endurance and very little speed. I know for a fact that I am not yet very quick which both Anders and Steve said would happen. I have to warm up before a run as my heart still does feel tight (like a vise) and I am sure that the lack of speed is a result of the scar tissue and the heart just not being loose enough yet to allow a quicker effort. But, it will come and I'll just enjoy where I am at for the time being.
