Variation of PVI I heard about

Today, I saw Dr. John Seger in Houston, who continues to track my progress after a successful PVI ablation performed by Dr. Natale at CCF. Dr. Seger said that he (Dr. Seger) has begun to perform a variation of the PVI that has an initial success rate of about 86% and a lower risk of Pulmonary Vein stenosis and a total table time as little as 2.5 hours. For all I know, I may have had this variation, myself, at CCF. Anyway, imagine the original way of creating a circumferential lesion around each of the four pulmonary veins -- like a circle around each one. Instead now, imagine a lesion around a pair of veins and a lesion around the other pair. Then join the two circumferential lesions with a segmental lesion between them. This is just like a pair of eye glasses seen straight on. Each lens frame represents an ovular lesion around two pulmonary veins and the nose bridge represents the lesion joining the two ovular lesions. Do you see it? There is another lesion created from one of the ovular lesions to somewhere else in the heart. This is all that I know, but I find it fascinating. If you wish to know more please consult with your doctor.
