Hi again, Jack :)
Yes! I was here once before and not long after the maze procedure. And YES .. it is nice waking up in NSR and not A-Fib. I had my surgery at The Heart Institute, St. Vincent's Hospital, Portland, Oregon. Same hospital where the famous Dr Albert Starr performed my previous surgeries. Dr. Jeffery Swanson was the surgeon who performed the Maze miracle on me in August 2003. I am now almost five months post-op ... only problem I have now is when I consume foods with too much sodium, the heart gets kinda irregular. So, NO MORE SALT for this lil cookie!
Other than that , I am doing great, get tired alot, three naps a day ... since I've had previous heart surgeries, I do get tired and the Amiodarone I was taking has left my lungs scarred for life... unfortunately one of the damaging effects of the medicine. I will check in again to see how everyone else is doing and in the meantime in between time, I will be praying for all of you! GBY** Cindy**
