I should point out that in his reply to you John said that a SURGEON asked him if he had had enough - NOT an EP or a CARDIOLOGIST.

The six cardiologists/EPs that I consulted led me round and around the drug trail. I finally found this board and within 4 months of finding it, I was at the Cleveland Clinic for the Maze surgery - a decision I have never regretted.

Personnally, if I were in your situation (and I was at one time) I would cancel the EP appointment because they play with your mind and tell you that the Maze is 'experimental' and 'unproven' and 'lacking in statistical verification', etc. I would do what I did in October 2001 and call Dr Hammer and Dr McCarthy for an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic.

John described the kind of treatment cardiologists dish out very accurately.
