Barb, This indeed is very upsetting news. I am sure it is the sum of all your fears and is distresses all of us who have come to know the great gift of being in normal sinus rhythm. As far as I can determine from my own experience and reading various posts on the board a number of us have NSR for a long stretch and then loose it. I am wondering what happens after about a year. Does anyone have any thoughts on why this occurs? I made it for a year and celebrated (!!) my first anniversary of the maze by returning to a-fib. This was very distressing to me but I took the advice of people here and contacted Dr. Natale at the CC. It took 6 months but I am scheduled for an ablation January 20th. My fervent hope for you is that an ablation will be possible and that you will before long be back in NSR. I the meantime, please keep hopeful and know how much we all are sharing your disappointment and your desire for relief.
