supplements for surgery

So much to think of as I prepare for surgery. I have found reference to taking Arnica Montana and Bromelain to help reduce post-operative effects. Does anyone have anything else to suggest? Also, how do you get around the instructions to stop taking all supplements, etc. several days before surgery?
