I am not sure on your question Rachel.
My original opinion was that they burned/touched up areas that was still letting the errant impulses cross what shold be the lesions formed by the maze.
Now they seem to be calling them PVA's, and that would be isolating the pulmonary vein as far as I know.
I'm sure some others can better explain exactly what they do, or if each case calls for individual solutions.
