I can only surmise that Dr. Gillinov was speaking on behalf of Cleveland Clinic’s overall success rate, averaged out for all maze surgeons. 98% could very well be Dr. McCarthy’s personal success rate percentage. I’m sure when a surgeon at CC quotes his success rate to a patient, it is accurate.
