From what I have read, the "Catheter MAZE" may be the future of the surgery, but has no where near the success rate right now. Somewhere in the 30's as far as percent of success. I would do some serious investigation before heading that direction. There are a couple articles related to it in the articles section here and more the various cardiac sites.
Someday maybe, but I'm not sure they are there yet. Everyone is all excited about it because it is less invasive, but it needs to be able to do the job better.
I hope others will jump in that know more about it. I am just encouraging you to investigate thoroughly.
