I also just received a similar letter from Dr. McCarthy, and can also attest to Henry's remarkable story. I called the CC the day after his surgery, expecting to learn from a nurse or his daughter as to how he was doing. His daughter answered the phone, 22 hours post-maze, and told me that I would have to wait, because Henry was walking up and down the hall. A-MAZING!, at age 69, he had the fastest, least uncomfortable recovery of which I am aware (although we had to convince him several months later to go back for a "touch-up" ablation, when his heart kept "acting up". I repeat, using Henry's forthright phrase: "Go for the gold!"
