My sternum is finally starting to feel stabil, which was my biggest worry. I am a big sneezer, and twice I thought I refractured my sternum with a boomer sneeze. I found that if I let out air before the actual sneeze, it didn't cause sternal discomfort.
I just got back from hiking the mountains in Vermont, and it is definately easier to hike in NSR. I felt like a choo choo train, chugging at a good pace up the mountains. Previously, it was dificult, and I had to stop to catch my wind regularly. Health is really coming back at this stage. This trip overcame my fears that it might not be worth going through this whole heart operation to gain incremental health: after a couple of decades of AF, NSR is worth the risk.
My heart beats have been increasing in regularity with less of the early boogie woogie beats now. I have been in NSR since the operation on 4-24-01
Good luck everybody Rob
