Barb, I threw a clot after surgery and had a stroke in my left eye which left permanent vision loss. I was lucky clot went to eye vs brain. Dr. Hammer said this was the first time he had experienced such a thing. I read posts from people who say they were on blood thinners post surgery, I was not. I had a mitral valve repair w/maze. I would recommend to future mazers to discuss being on blood thinners post surgery to prevent any occurance like the one I had. Continued good health and NSR to us all. Jimmy Cull
