Dave,

I have just returned to Houston from Cleveland where I had a PVI/Ablation performed by Dr. Natale. The experience is so recent that I have not posted a general message to the board, yet. You asked if any part of the experience is discomforting. On a previous ablation attempt in Houston I could not be sedated without my moving around too much. So, Dr. Natale determined to use the least amount of sedatives possible. I asked the nurses to talk to me during the procedure, since I would be alert. He and his staff of medical professionals were masterful at keeping me comforatble and calm. I was awake much of the time and did feel some pain, but they increased the meds for me whenever I began to tense up. For months prior to the procedure I would lay awake for a few minutes at night and visualize myself holding still and breathing shallow. I believe this visualization technique truly helped. Dr. Natale and the atrial fibrillation team made it a success for me, and I was a hard case with respect to the anesthesia. I am very greatful to all the wonderful folks at CCF. Oh, by the way, I have been in NSR since the procedure two days ago. I was in a-fib when the procedure began.

Best of luck to you, Dave. They at CCF will take care of you.

Bill
