I've been taking generic coumadin for probably 15 years. I get "warfarin" here in the States, and "wafarina" when in Mexico, because it's cheaper. My INR has always been very stable. I do a protime test once a month, and my Doctor is like a broken record, "your INR is fine, continue the current dosage (5 mg/day), and have another test in a month". I take warfarin for a blood deficiency now, which causes deep vein clots in my legs. Since my Maze in 4/02 I have not needed it for Afib, as it is history.
