Nancy, I have taken blood thinners for almost 25 years. The last 5-6 years I have been taking a generic. I have found that my INR fluctuates a lot more than when I took Coumadin. My cardiologist did not recommend it for years, but when I started using mail order a generic was sent to me by mistake. The doc told me to try it. It works OK, but my readings are not as stable as they were before. Everyone is probably different. But there is quite a difference in the cost on my medical plan. For me it's worth it, I just make sure to be on time with my pro-times and not procrastinate.
