Tom, its two years since I had my maze at OSU (8/28/01) and like you I have been afib and drug free ever since the procedure.
Also, like you, my resting heart rate is 50 and I cannot get it above the 120’s. When I run my heart rate ramps up nicely and then hits the end stop. Anders mentioned feeling like the breaks were on in one of his posts and in his case he got though it in time.
I am 52 and was not de-conditioned prior to surgery (I had the maze 6 months after I was diagnosed, and ran (or tried to) right up to the operation). So I have to assume that this is attributable to the maze.
Hopefully it will resolve itself in time in both our cases.
