Hi Terry I too am glad you are doing well.

It is sad that some cardiologist just don't get it. I had Afib for 10 years and am very thankful I found this site and the many wonderful people who have gone ahead of me with successful maze procedures. My cardiologist told me I needed a pacemaker to hold my HR up so he could push more Sotolol (sp). Having heard about the maze procedure I asked him and was quickly told it would not work. I sat out on my own to find out more. The long and short of it all I went to Cleveland Clinic, and had Dr McCarthy do the operation 2/27/02. I ended up with a quad by-pass and the maze procedure. 18 months out of surgery and off all heart medication and AF free for 14 months. I thank the Lord every day for this new life I received.
