Very nice post. The risk of stroke was certainly one of my main reasons that I feared afib and had the maze done by McCarthy at the CC. I had no other heart problems and was not yet chronic but after enough research I could see that I probably would be in the future without drugs drugs drugs. I also hated taking blook thinners and it caused me problems with my flying. I agree that if more doctors took more interest and helped those with afib find a cure the stroke odds would certainly decrease.

I found this web site that shows many videos of the inside of the beating heart. Take a look at some of these and you start to understand why afib causes strokes. You will need quicktime to view.
