Carl it is always good to read your post and I want to thank you for all your help and support on this board. Thank you for being there for so many of us like myself. I feel a bit guilty because I haven’t been posting much lately. As of yesterday I am a full 18-mos. Post maze. I need to find someone who is in afib because I have almost forgotten what checking an afibby pulse feels like! Is that crazy or what? I certainly do remember how bad afib made me feel as far as stress and mood swings. I am still totally into checking my pulse just as I was before the maze. I am thankful everyday to be in NSR and drug free. I have been drug free since 3 MOs post maze. As far as I know, I have not had any afib since about one week after my maze. I constantly record my HR with my Polar S810 during exercise and sometimes while resting. I then download this to my computer. I do have PACs but they usually don’t bother me. During the first year post maze I mostly had PVCs. Now, for some reason the PVCs have become very rare but now PACs are common but still viewed as no problem by my Doctors. My resting HR is about 15 bpm above what it was before my maze. I wonder if the extra beats will wear my heart out sooner? I think that my parasympathetic nerves need more reinnervation and I hope that will happen and soon. After the maze - before during and after exercise - I noticed all kinds of abnormal HR response because of nerve damage and other stuff. As time has passed little by little HR response to exercise has been getting back to normal. I think it would be nice if the Doctors explained to Mazers what they might expect because of nerve damage and other things that can effect heart rate and ectopic beats. I am 56, 6 ft 3 in., 220 lbs. and still about 30 lbs. overweight but ride my bike or jog at least 400 min a week and I am in pretty good shape. I really need is to get serious and drop the weight. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

IT IS JUST GREAT TO BE IN NSR AND DRUG FREE!!!! THANKS YOU FOR THIS BOARD AND PEOPLE LIKE CARL, STEVE AND MANY OTHERS. YOU HAVE CHANGED A LOT OF LIVES!
