Nancy: Given the tone of your pre-maze/valve repair posts, it is heartwarming to read your now upbeat post. I can relate to the problems of high altitude afib pre-maze and the inability to do much of anything.
Where can we expect to see your photos published? I will enjoy them even more, knowing from where you've come.
While I am not in the habit of thanking God, I have done so, but mostly I thank the early Mazers who guided me to the Maze nearly 3 years ago, through this site. Some of them no longer post, but I have not forgotten their encouragement.
Those with afib whose lives have been disrupted in a major way: Don't let doctors tell you there is no "cure" or that the "risks are too high"! The risks of high dosages of most of the drugs, especially for afibbers under 60, far exceeds the risk of Maze surgery by a competent surgeon, or a PVA by a competent EP. Life is too short to resign yourself to a regimen of drugs.
