I was told today by my cardiologist and the electrophysiologist the I should consider the MAZE. I am 51 years old, female, have been in and out of AF for 4 years. Have tried all the AntiAryth drugs, incucluding Sotolol (betapace) (not Amiaodarone).
I am on Vasotec (enalapril), Lopresser, COumadin, and Lasex. I have had 7 cardioversions and they have worked anywhere from 9 months to 15 minutes.
My question is I have tremendous bloating in my abdomen of fluid retention so much that when I take my lasix in the AM i will eliminate about 48-64 ounces in a 2 hours time period (and I hardly drink any liquids).
My feet and ankles never swell, it is only at my waist. I wondered if ANYONE else experiences this type of symptom also. My cardiologist says it is probably my heart that is making this happen but no one can pinpoint a reason. CAN ANYONE HELP IF THEY HAVE HAD THIS OR KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT IT?
THank you very much...this is my first time at this site. Sandy Teazle35@aol.com
