Ditto to the half life as described any Anne R. I had AFib for six years controlled by a beta blocker until this year. Then I would go into 36-, 48-, 54-hour bouts of rapid heart beat. The medications to control the AFib were intolerable for me. I just couldn't function. So I planned to have the PVI(or PVA) at Cleveland Clinic. Then a heart catherization revealed that I also had a severe regurgitating mitral valve. That clenched it for me. So I got the mitral valve repaired and Radio-Frequency Modified Maze at CC six weeks ago. I am looking forward to a heart-med-free life and full recovery.
