Well, I guess the "memory loss" must be getting to me... I THOUGHT my earlier post went through, but I guess I didn't "submit" it as I thought and it is lost forever in cyberspace.
Perhaps the "slow time" is because some new and less invasive solution to AF is being performed. Wouldn't that be nice? But, it is probably just a lull in Afibbers finding this page.
I know I waited for nearly 5 years for the "less invasive than the maze" solution to come along, which my cardiologist and then my electrophysiologist kept saying was "within 2 years", and they were talking about the catheter based maze, which turned out to be totally unsuccessful. I hope something better comes along...SOON, but for now, the maze is successful for many, many people, myself included.

If not for this site, I, like a number of other happy "mazers" might be suffering with AF or the debillitation of drugs like amiodarone (which really did affect my lung capacity). Thanks again Jack!!

While my physical condition has (nor probably will never be) like Ed Wehan's, I did hike a National Forest trail in GA last weekend, and was pleased that when my HR got to a max of 115, a 10 minute or less stop at an observation overlook got it back down to 63. Six months ago, if I could have gotten up this trail, I would surely have been carried down, in AFib or AFlutter!
Today, I received an invitation from the American Stroke Association about participating in an organized training program for one of 3 marathons in either NC or Jamaica in Dec, or Disney World in January. Training, travel, and hotel accomodations are provided. (Of course, there is probably some "catch", like getting many support pledges). I really am considering it, and would probably be even more enthused should some other "mazers" would also do it. We could have a "maze team" or at least have a joint celebration.

I don't know if this is being done nationwide, because my mailing came from the local office. Contact me and I will try to get more details from that office ASAP.
