Mike, I live in Ventura so I also tried to stay in California for my maze surgery. I called Dr. Guaudiani's office and made an appointment to meet with him. I would encourage you to do the same and get updated statistics from him on his maze success. They were very good when I spoke with him. He is a very likeable, accessable person who will sit down and answer any questions that you may have. I liked him although I did not choose him.
Instead, I went to Cleveland and had my maze done on January 10 by Dr. McCarthy. I figured what's an airfare for a hospital with such a great reputation and a physician with Dr. McCarthy's experience.
However, I feel that from what I know, Dr. Guadiani is very good and the attention you would receive from him would be very personal and supportive. Best of luck.
: Hello everyone
: Just found this board a few days ago. I am 52 yrs. old and have been in chronic AF for several years. Even though my quality of life is not that bad I feel that as I am getting older that AF is starting to catch up with me. I live in Santa Rosa,Calif and it seems that Dr. Vincent Guadiani of Redwood City is the only surgeon in the bay area that does the Maze surgery
: Has anyone out there had their surgery done by Dr. Guadiani and if so would you recommend him to others.
: Any input here would be appreciated.
: thanks Mike
