This is the first time since my operation that I have had the chance to write. The operation was fine but a combination of extreme tiredness and trouble with my eyes has made concentrating quite difficult !!The operation was done at Papworth (England)by Stephen Large.I am so grateful to you all for the information I had aquired prior to going in- it really helped to know about things like chest drains !
I had a few ups and downs in hospital with the usual things like fluid and low blood pressure. When I came home I still had some very strange beats (very powerful) and periods of AF which I found very depressing.
I am taking Amiodarone as a short term measure but I have now had 9 days AF free (the longest period for a very long time ).I am becoming more confident that I may be free of AF one day for ever.Amiodarone never worked for me before the operation and I can't wait to give it up to see if the rhythm I am in is my own !
