I have followed your posts very carefully since your Maze in August, 2001, since I had my Maze 2 months later, in October. You have been dealt a tough hand of cards to play with and I feel very badly for you. I think going to CC is the best thing you can do at this point. There is a great EP there, Dr Schweikert, who treated me, a post-Maze patient, very successfully. If you can, try and schedule a consultation with him during your visit. He is a very direct, straight shooter, with no BS. He told me flat out, that if he had to face a future of dealing with the Afib medications, he would, without hesitation, sign up for the Maze. I've never heard THAT from any EP, before or since.

Also, as you have pointed out, Steve Giddings' opinions are solid gold and not to be ignored.

I feel sure you will get meaningful help at CC.
