Several surgeons have been working with the microwave technique, but Dr. Saltman is the first to do the laparoscopic version. The big advantage, if it works out is the short hospital stay, and recovery time.
Dr. Gillinov was working on the same technique, but I have never heard if he has done any procedures.
I have asked Dr. Saltman for a fuller explanation, including how they arrive at their cure rate statistics.
