Frank: Best wishes and prayers for a successful maze
at the CC. As Ed says, there just aren't any less than good
surgeons at the CC. That is why they continue to be
rated the best in the country by US News & World Report.

If you remember, ask your doctors why they are so
"spotty" with their follow-up with patients. How do
they know their success rate when they don't keep
tabs on their patients? Do they only check after 3
years?

I had follow-up in the first 2 weeks, then the cath
lab called at about 6 weeks or so, and nothing since
re: maze success. (Mine has been good!) Ed got a
follow-up at 3 months only.

This kind of follow-up cannot have any statistical
validity UNLESS they are ONLY using the info they
get at 3 years, and the rest is just for the personal
knowledge of someone.

We will look forward to progress reports to be posted
starting Monday or Tuesday.

Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
Just back from my visit with Dr. Sabik who will do my Mitral Valve repair/replacement Monday morning. Dr. A. Marc Gillinow will do the Maze Procedure. evidently they work together often. Dr. Gillinow is listed on CC's list of surgeons who perform the Maze Procedure.

: I probably won't be able to give any opinion/description for a number of days after the procedure (obviously). For those so inclined, please say some prayers!!

: Best-
