I had maze 11 months ago at the CC by Dr. McCarthy and after some problems early on was in sinus rythym and off meds. At night though I still wake up at times with noticable afib. What is interesting is that I can stop the afib at will... If I tighten my chest/stomach muscles and squeeze quick and hard a couple of times the afib stops. It works every time. It is very strange, but never fails. I'm not happy about the afib, but they only occur when at rest and I can always conrol them. Has anyone else experienced this post maze or otherwise? I am happy having had my surgery. It is interesting though that I have never been contacted by CC for follow-up on my condition. I wonder how they gather there stats, if they don't ask the patients????
