Dear Everybody:
Hello from Mclean Va once again. I am trying a new email address.
This may be old news to some of you but I just recently discovered that the company AstraZeneca is putting out a new drug called Exanta which will replace coumadin if approved. It is now in its Two Phase III Clinical Trials and showed excellent results. It works without dietary restrictions and no more blood tests!!!!
As you know since I had a mechanical valve put in in Cleveland Clinic I am still using coumadin. Well they are testing it for atrial fibrillations also and for hip and knee replacement surgeries. I don't know if approved whether it will also be used for valve replacements. It sounds so wonderful. It is called EXanta (ximelagatran). This is for the prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism.
For those of us still on coumadin it would be great.
Good luck to all of you.
Sheena
