The place where afib originates in the heart is different from where aflutter originates according to what I have read. Doing an ablation for aflutter, therefore, would not stop afib. Unless you had a pulmonary vein isolation ablation, that would be the next step to rid yourself of afib. Find out exactly what areas of your heart your doctor ablated during your procedure and let us know.
It's tough to have to have another ablation when you weren't expecting it, but being cured will make it all worth it! M.
