Mine was done by Dr. McCarthy in early June, I left the hospital in four days, arived home and went into afib at about seven days. It was very uncomfortable and depressing, two local hospitalizations resulted finally in sinus rythym and amiodarone. I am now 6 months post maze in sinus rythym, off amio,off coumadin and feeling fine. Its hard but apparently this happens in about a third of the cases. The afib he has now is caused by the trauma of surgery and is now the same as before, as the heart heals it will pass. Hang in there.
As to your question about follow-up by Cleveland, I was not impressed. They were really of no help and did not respond to my local cardio.
