You are making an intelligent decision on choosing the Cleveland Clinic. I am 2-1/2 years post maze (Dr.McCarthy) and have never looked back. I feel great and happy to have my life back. Carl Plaskett has addressed the issue of hotels pretty well. I also have Aetna and they did pay for my travel expenses (less food and phones) for my self and my wife. I would recommend the Intercontinental Suites, as the Guesthouse tends to be a bit uncomfortable especially if you are staying a few days after release from the hospital. I had a minor complication (pericardial effusion) and was treated as an outpatient for 6 days. I believe Aetna covered me for $100 per day for the hotel. It depends upon your coverage. Don't trust your Human resources manager on this. I contacted our Aetna account executive directly and got the info I needed.
