Roger, I’m sorry to say that I have never had a mapping procedure done on my heart,
although I have read quite a few posts on this board in the past from those who have had heart mapping done. I’ve always been curious myself as to exactly what this procedure is like. Perhaps some of those who have done this procedure will fill us in (again) on what they experienced. I have been with two cardiology groups here in San Diego, and none of the doctors or electrophysiologist doctors in these groups has ever suggested that I have heart mapping done. I did have an angiogram before my Maze last April, but it is just done to determine your heart’s condition before the Maze, so there are no surprises when they get in to the surgery. However, this is not mapping. Perhaps we should all be going to the Cleveland Clinic with our conditions, because they seem to be on the cutting edge of all this stuff. I get the feeling that most of the cardiologists in San Diego are a little behind the curve in this area. Hope my local cardiologist and EP don’t read this! I do intend to raise the mapping question with my EP when I go in to see him for my next appointment in 6 weeks. Don
