I found the maze board by doing a search in June 2002, finding your website, then reviewing some of the posts. I came across one from Mary Baril who had the maze done at Mayo in Jan 2002. I contacted her privately and got information about Dr. Dearani and her procedure.

I was very unsure about all of this maze stuff back in June 2002, but am so glad I did my research and went ahead with the surgery, which was performed on 7/11/02. I am now in normal sinus rhythm, but an underlying rhythm problem surfaced in November. My heart rate was in the low 40's, sometimes even going into the 30's. I tolerated the slow heart rate just fine, but my docs were concerned about passing out and other things. I had the pacemaker implant on 12/19/02, so it's too soon to tell the outcome on that part. But the maze did its job and I am grateful for the technology available throughout my life. God has been good to me and watched out for me all my life. I will continue to check in to this website and answer questions regarding my own situation. Thanks for the website!!!
